Good morning parents and guardians,
Thank you to all the parents that were able to attend the Curriculum Night. I would like to answer some questions that came up during that evening. First, Scholastic book orders are not due until September 9. If you would like to order books please go to this link. Our class code is HM6FX. Scholastic digital has many more books than the flyers as well as 3rd grade lists of books if you are interested. Secondly, Mrs. Spalding put together a few lists of books that I am attaching below this email as a list of good books for third graders. Thirdly, parents are welcome to volunteer in the classroom, copy cats, around campus, with Art Masterpiece, and with Diggs but it’s limited to helping students and staff educationally. We are not having parents come onto campus for lunch at this time.
If you have any other questions please feel free to email. Have a wonderful week.
Here’s what we are learning in class for the week of Aug. 22:
Tues. Aug 23 - Simis Dine out at Peter Piper Pizza on 7th Ave at 5pm
Wed. Aug 24 - TCT - 1:00pm release
Mon. Sept 5 - Labor Day, No School

Here’s what we are learning in class for the week of Aug. 22:
- Reading: Sequencing, visualizing, and theme will be the main areas of focus this week as we read from a variety of texts.
- Writing: We will use emojis as a visual as we write about a time we felt a certain emotion. We will learn about the four kinds of sentences, how to identify them, and when to use them.
- Math: Our focus continues to be on multiplication as we look at the commutative property and use of number lines and bar graphs. Optional math homework lessons 3-6.
- Science/Social Studies: We continue to understand how our brains change as we learn. We will talk about being mindful in our actions.
