First Week of School!
Dear Parents and Families,
I am happy that school is finally back and we can start a wonderful new year together. Each and every student was carefully selected to be in our class and for that reason I am confident that this we be great experience for us all. This first week we will get to know each other, set up expectations, and learn our routines. We will have a small snack break after our specials each day so if you could send your child with a healthy snack that would be great. Back to School Night is this Wednesday at 6:00pm. If you have any questions before that time please feel free to email me.
Week at a Glance:
Reading: We will be discussing elements of a story and how to summarize.
Writing: Students will learn how to create and use bubble maps and we will review and create different sentences.
Math: Students will review place value and we will begin rounding by 10s and 100s.
Social Studies: This week we will be focusing on expectations, creating classroom agreements, being a good citizen, and having a growth mindset.
Homework: In the cover of each child's folder is a paper that I would like students to illustrate with drawings or pictures about themselves. This will be something that students share with each other so we can get to know each other. This is due on Monday, August 13th. (This could be just a collage of pictures or you can create it like a scrapbook page)
